Privacy Policy

Who we are

Evi Quiz is the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, email privacy@eviquiz.app.

What we collect

• Account. If you sign in, your email address. If you play as a guest, an anonymous account identifier with no email.
• Profile. An optional display name and country. Country is used only to tune quiz difficulty and is never shown to other players.
• Quizzes and gameplay. The topics you enter, the quizzes generated for you, the answers you type, your scores, and quizzes you report.
• Abuse-prevention data. A one-way hashed form of your IP address (never the raw address) to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
• Basic technical data. Standard server logs (request time, coarse error information) needed to run and secure the service.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or payment information, and we do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

Why we use it

• To generate quizzes and judge your typed answers.
• To save your quizzes and let you share and compare scores.
• To keep the service safe: enforce fair-use limits, detect abuse, and moderate reported content.
• To operate, debug, and improve the app.

Our legal basis (where applicable, e.g. under GDPR) is performance of our service to you and our legitimate interest in keeping it safe and working.

AI processing

When you create a quiz or submit an answer, the topic or answer text is sent to third-party AI model providers through an AI gateway so a model can generate the quiz or judge your answer. We send only what's needed for that task. We instruct the generation model to avoid producing hateful, sexual, or harmful content, and provide reporting tools (below) for anything that slips through.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that run the app on our behalf:

• Supabase: database, authentication and storage.
• Vercel: hosting and the AI gateway that routes model requests.
• AI model providers (via the gateway): quiz generation and answer evaluation.
• Langfuse: model-request tracing to monitor quality and cost.
• Resend: sending sign-in emails.

We never sell your personal data. Providers may process data outside your country; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and quizzes until you delete them or delete your account. Abuse-prevention and log data are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and then removed or aggregated.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account. In the app, open your profile and use “Delete my account”. This permanently removes your account, profile, quizzes and play history.
• Access, correct or export.Email us and we'll help.
• Report content.Use “Report this quiz” on any quiz's results screen.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise them, contact privacy@eviquiz.app.

Children

Evi Quiz is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the app evolves and revise the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
